KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 28): CelcomDigi Bhd (KL:CDB) has announced a strategic collaboration with electric vehicle (EV) charge point operators JomCharge and Yinson Greentech’s chargEV to accelerate the deployment of EV charging points across the country.
Under this initiative, the company will install 100 EV charging points in commercial areas, including shopping malls and street locations, as well as residential areas by the end of 2025
CelcomDigi chief innovation officer Kugan Thirunavakarasu said the company recognises the urgent need to expand the EV charging infrastructure in the country and enhance accessibility to charging points, making it easier for Malaysians to adopt sustainable mobility solutions.
“We are excited to collaborate with both JomCharge and chargEV to expand our service offerings beyond telecommunications by integrating connectivity and green tech solutions into the everyday life of our customers.
"Our commitment to make EV services more accessible aligns with our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives and climate goals, reinforcing our efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote clean energy adoption in Malaysia," he said.
As part of the collaboration, CelcomDigi customers will enjoy RM10 discounts on charging sessions at selected JomCharge and chargEV charging stations nationwide.
