KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 22): HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd has officially opened its flagship wealth centre in Menara IQ at the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), Malaysia’s international financial hub, to serve its high-net-worth clients.

HSBC Bank Malaysia country head of international wealth and premier banking Linda Yip pointed out that the country's strong economic fundamentals provide a solid foundation for the expanding wealth segment, which is important to Malaysia's goal of becoming a high-income nation.

"Given these factors, the timing is right for HSBC to launch its flagship wealth centre in Malaysia.

"TRX's status as Malaysia's international business and financial hub also aligns with HSBC's position as a leading international bank and wealth management provider in the country," she said at the opening of the centre here on Wednesday.

Looking ahead, she said the bank aims to replicate this success in other key locations across the country, where HSBC already has a presence.

The wealth centre is purposely-designed for HSBC's 'Premier Elite' and high-net-worth clients, reportedly offering an exclusive, private space for consultations with HSBC's senior relationship managers and access to bespoke solutions to help clients grow, manage, and protect their wealth.

Premier Elite is available to selected holders of HSBC and HSBC Amanah Premier accounts with a total relationship balance of at least RM3 million.

The opening of the wealth centre was officiated by Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong and witnessed by HSBC Bank Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Omar Siddiq.

Apart from Kuala Lumpur, the bank already has wealth centres in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan.
