KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 16): Eastern & Oriental Bhd (KL:E&O), Malaysia’s premier lifestyle developer, has launched Maris, a RM700 million waterfront residence located in the Gurney Green district on Andaman Island, Penang.

In a statement, E&O managing director Kok Tuck Cheong said, “Maris celebrates modern waterfront living, blending luxury, functionality, and sustainability. Its marina-edge concept offers a vibrant yet serene environment, where everyday essentials are just steps away.”

The 49-storey tower sits on 3.2 acres of freehold land and offers 516 fully furnished serviced residences, with unit sizes ranging from 979 sq ft for two-bedroom layouts to 1,356 sq ft for three-bedroom options. Prices are expected to start from RM950,000, catering to a range of buyers, including young families, retirees, and investors.

The development includes a variety of amenities, such as an infinity pool, a forest park, a pet park, and a gymnasium. Residents will also enjoy sea views from the sky terrace, which features swinging daybeds and outdoor dining areas.

In addition, Maris activates a waterfront promenade lined with cafes, restaurants, and boutique retail outlets. This area is designed to foster community interaction and an active outdoor lifestyle.

“As the first project to activate this promenade, Maris transforms the area into an open, welcoming space that fosters social interaction and communal living,” Kok added.

Reflecting E&O’s commitment to sustainability, Maris meets Platinum GreenRE standards, incorporating eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient designs to minimise environmental impact.

Meanwhile, connectivity to Andaman Island, a 760-acre township planned under the '15-minute city' concept, will be further enhanced by an upcoming eight-lane bridge to Gurney Drive, set to open later this year.
