KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 8): CJ Century Logistics Holdings Bhd (KL:CJCEN) has appointed Kim HyunChul as its new deputy chief executive officer (CEO), succeeding Kim JinMok, who resigned after nearly two years of service with the company.

In a bourse filing, the total logistics provider announced that HyunChul's appointment as the deputy CEO takes effect on Wednesday, Jan 8.

The 47-year-old man has spent nearly 20 years building his career with CJ Logistics Corporation — a logistics company headquartered in Seoul, South Korea — since December 2004.

HyunChul began as a manager in the transportation operations team, a role he held from December 2004 to June 2014.

He then served as the vice-president of the business audit division from July 2014 to December 2023, before taking on the role of the vice-president of the global innovation team from January 2024 to October 2024.

From October 2024 to December 2024, he served as the vice-president of CJ Logistics Corporation.

In a separate filing, CJ Century explained that JinMok's resignation was due to a change in the nominee director by CJ Logistics Asia Pte Ltd, a major shareholder of CJ Century Logistics. JinMok had been appointed as the group’s deputy CEO in May 2023.

Shares of CJ Century closed unchanged at 22 sen on Wednesday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM128 million. Over the past year, the counter has declined 44%.
