KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 8): Reservoir Link Energy Bhd (KL:RL) said on Wednesday that its 45%-owned associate has secured a RM20 million subcontract for a 10-megawatt current solar farm in Kuala Langat, Selangor.
The contract from an undisclosed client involves solar panels mounted on floating platforms over 24 acres (9.71 hectares), Reservoir Link said in a statement. Its associate Founder Group Ltd will be the subcontractor, responsible for labour, hand tools, materials, and necessary machinery and equipment, it said.
"This floating solar farm is expected to be completed by June 2025," the energy-related services provider said in a statement.
Reservoir Link expects the project to significantly contribute to land conservation and the preservation of natural habitats, in line with the company’s commitment to advancing carbon neutrality.
"Given the growing demand for renewable energy solutions, we look forward to continuously doing our part and supporting Malaysia's renewable energy goals as we promote a greener, more sustainable future," said Reservoir Link deputy chairman Thien Chiet Chai.
At midday on Wednesday, Reservoir Link shares were trading unchanged at 35 sen, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM117.2 million.
