KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 7): Infomina Bhd (KL:INFOM) has secured a three-year contract worth RM22.35 million from the Road Transport Department to provide maintenance and support for the Automated Awareness Safety System.

The contract covers back-end application, data centre infrastructure, disaster recovery systems, network infrastructure and communication systems, Infomina said in an exchange filing. Infomina will also manage integration services with various entities for digital enforcement processes.

“Infomina will provide project management services and collaborate with the government's project team to manage the implementation" of the camera enforcement system also known as Awas, it said.

The contract will run from Feb 1, 2025, to Jan 31, 2028. During this period, Infomina plans to explore advanced technologies such as 5G infrastructure and automated artificial intelligence to enhance image processing and ensure seamless integration between existing and new enforcement cameras.

Awas is the successor to the automated enforcement system (AES) after Pakatan Harapan took power in 2018. The Road Transport Department, or JPJ, took over the system after the concession agreement was signed with two private companies on Aug 31, 2018.

Shares of Infomina were up two sen or 1.49% at RM1.36 by Tuesday’s noon break, giving it a market capitalisation of RM805.7 million.
