KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 2): Foong Mun Kong has officially assumed the role of managing partner at KPMG Malaysia, effective Jan 1, 2025, according to a statement on Thursday.
This follows a transition from Datuk Johan Idris’ tenure as managing partner, who now takes on the role of non-executive chairman, read the statement.
Foong brings over 30 years of experience in audit and assurance, having previously served as the firm’s head of audit.
Beyond his contributions to the firm, he currently serves as vice-president of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), a council member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, and is a member of the MFRS Application and Implementation Committee of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB).
“This transition heralds an exciting new chapter for KPMG in Malaysia. Building on the solid foundation we have laid together and guided by an unwavering commitment to quality and trust, I am confident that KPMG will continue to scale new heights of success.
