KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 16): Sapura Industrial Bhd (KL:SAPIND) said on Monday that Puncak Exotika Sdn Bhd has ceased to be its substantial shareholder after it disposed of 500,000 shares in the automotive component manufacturer.
In a bourse filing, Sapura Industrial said that the transaction took place last Friday (Dec 13). A check with Bloomberg showed that the shares were traded at 82 sen apiece, or a cumulative RM410,000.
Puncak Exotika previously held 4.1 million shares, or a 5.63% stake in Sapura Industrial, according to its latest shareholding disclosure filed on May 14.
Following the transaction, Puncak Exotika's stake in Sapura Industrial has decreased to 3.6 million shares, or 4.95% — below the 5% threshold required for the substantial shareholding status.
Sapura Industrial's three largest shareholders are Executive Chairman Tan Sri Shamsuddin Abdul Kadir and his spouse Mariam Parineh, who together control a 28% stake via SAK Asset Ventures Sdn Bhd; The Ameis Trust with an 18.96% stake; and Koh Kok Hooi with a 10.9% stake.
Shares in Sapura Industrial lost 3.5 sen or 4.1%, to close at 82 sen on Friday, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM59.7 million.
