KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 4): The Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has been ranked first among 355 airports in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) global performance rankings.

According to the Airports Council International's (ACI) ASQ Departures Passenger Satisfaction Report: KUL Benchmark Performance, Third Quarter 2024 (3Q2024), KLIA achieved a perfect score of 5.00 on a scale of one (poor) to five (excellent).

This surpasses the ASQ global average score for overall satisfaction, which stands at 4.32.

The airport scored 5.00 in several categories, compared with 4.88 for the custom panel average, 2.77 for the Asia-Pacific average, and 4.42 for airports handling over 40 million passengers annually.

The report noted that KLIA also ranked first in all its categories for the custom panel average, first out of 20 airports (1/20), Asia-Pacific average (1/100), and over 40 million passengers average (1/41).  

For the overall experience, KLIA maintained its perfect score of 5.00, outperforming the ASQ global average (4.19), the custom panel average (4.79), the Asia-Pacific average (4.65), and the over 40 million passengers average (4.31).

The survey, conducted between July 1 and Sept 12, included responses from 352 passengers aged 16 and older. In total, 355 airports participated in the ASQ Departures Main Programme during 3Q2024.
