KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 27): IJM Land Bhd, through its subsidiary RMS (England) Ltd, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the second phase of Royal Mint Gardens in London on Tuesday (Nov 26). The second phase comprises a 15-storey building, which has 463 aparthotel rooms and 79 residential units.

According to a statement on Tuesday, the aparthotel is designed for short- and extended stays, and has a rooftop bar and a dining option accessible to residents and the public. Overall, phase two will be completed by May 2028.

Dublin-based aparthotel operator Staycity Group has secured a 30-year lease to operate its Wilde Aparthotels brand at the aparthotel building. 

“This exciting development is a testament to our shared ambition with IJM Land to deliver world-class hospitality. The aparthotel, to be flagged with our Wilde brand, will showcase our commitment to quality, sustainability and enriching guest experiences. We look forward to welcoming visitors to this iconic location,” said Staycity Group chief executive officer (CEO) Tom Walsh in the statement. 


IJM Corporation Bhd (KL:IJM) group CEO and managing director Datuk Lee Chun Fai added: “This groundbreaking marks an important milestone, leveraging the success and experience gained from the first phase of Royal Mint Gardens. This development reflects our commitment to creating spaces connecting communities, enhancing urban landscapes, and delivering long-term value. Being here today underscores IJM’s active role in delivering impactful urban projects”. 

Royal Mint Garden’s first phase, consisting of three condominium blocks with 256 residential units, was completed in 2019.
