KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 22): Biomass boiler firm BM Greentech Bhd (KL:BMGREEN) reported a 55% jump in net profit for its second quarter ended Sept 30 (2QFY2025) to a record high of RM13 million from RM8.38 million a year earlier, driven by higher revenue.
Revenue for the three months increased 15.8% to RM137.1 million — also the group's highest quarterly revenue — from RM118.4 million in 2QFY2024, boosted by stronger contribution from its solar energy segment, which saw revenue more than double to RM35.4 million from RM13.1 million due to a higher number of secured and completed projects, its bourse filing showed.
No dividend was declared for the quarter under review.
For the first six months of FY2025 (6MFY2025), the group’s net profit rose 31.4% to RM21 million from RM16 million, while revenue climbed 4.6% to RM229.3 million from RM219.3 million.
Looking ahead, the group plans to expand its presence in the large-scale solar and power purchase agreement sectors, following the successful acquisition of Plus Xnergy Holding Sdn Bhd.
As the group evolves into a comprehensive environmental solutions provider, it also aims to capitalise on emerging opportunities driven by growing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) awareness. "The board is confident in delivering satisfactory growth for the financial year, barring any external factors beyond the company’s control," it added.
BM Greentech shares closed one sen or 0.53% higher at RM1.89 on Friday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM1.3 billion. Year to date, the stock has climbed 99 sen or 110%.
