KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 17): The National Energy Awards (NEA), which aims to recognise the achievements and best practices of sustainable energy industry players in Malaysia, will be open for submission from Monday (Nov 18) until Feb 19 next year.
The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (Petra) said this in a statement on Sunday, noting that the NEA will have four categories, namely Energy Management, Energy Efficient Building, Renewable Energy, and Special Awards.
"Petra is confident that NEA will serve as an ideal platform for participants to showcase their best practices in energy efficiency and renewable energy. NEA will also highlight the local industry’s capabilities in delivering innovative solutions to optimise energy supply and promote sustainable energy use," the statement said.
Since its inception in 2018, the NEA has attracted the participation of 1,147 industry players and qualified entities, with 169 winners of the NEA chosen to represent the nation at the Asean Energy Awards (AEA).
"As Malaysia assumes the chairmanship of Asean next year, Petra would like to showcase Malaysia’s capabilities and standard of excellence in AEA 2025, with next
year’s award ceremony set to take place in Kuala Lumpur," the ministry said.
The NEA is organised by the ministry through Malaysia Green Technology & Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) as the secretariat.
