KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 1): Oil and gas services firm Bumi Armada Bhd has secured a £50 million (about RM283 million) contract to provide a flare gas recovery system in the UK’s North Sea.
Its wholly owned Bumi Armada UK Ltd signed a four-year engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and modification agreement with EnQuest Heather Ltd on Oct 29 for the job. It will provide the system on the Magnum platform, located in blocks 211/12a and 211/7a of the North Sea.
“Implementing the flare gas recovery system offers environmental benefits, as well as operational value. The capture and repurposing of flare gas will reduce Magnus platform greenhouse gas emissions, specifically CO2 (carbon dioxide) and methane, which are major contributors to climate change,” Bumi Armada told Bursa Malaysia.
This aligns with global environmental standards and regulations, helping EnQuest meet its internally and externally committed emissions reduction targets, it added.
Shares of Bumi Armada closed unchanged at 50 sen on Friday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM2.96 billion.
