KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 21): MyEG Services Bhd (KL:MYEG) and HeiTech Padu Bhd (KL:HTPADU) said they have commenced a partnership for current and future e-government projects in Malaysia in which either one party is involved.
The partnership is consequent to a teaming agreement signed in April, the two companies said in a joint statement.
The announcement of the partnership commencement comes days after Heitech announced on Oct 18 that it won the National Integrated Immigration System (NIIse) project from the Immigration Department, valued at RM892.2 million.
The contract requires Heitech to study, propose, design, develop, supply, deliver, install, test, integrate, migrate and synchronise data, as well as to provide training for the use of the NIISe system, its filing showed.
Heitech was also awarded two contracts from the Road Transport Department (JPJ) this year.
In September, it won a three-year contract worth RM133.73 million which, among others, underlines a revamp of the agency’s digital system.
Prior to that in April, it won a RM190 million maintenance and technical support services contract for JPJ’s information and communications technology infrastructure and MySIKAP (driver and vehicle information) system.
MyEG, which owns a 14.99% stake in Heitech, separately in October 2024 won a two-year extension for its own immigration-related services contract, which includes online temporary work permit renewal services for foreign workers.
The service resumed in January after its service relaunch, following the completion of system enhancements mandated in the Home Ministry's letter granting an extension of the service. Other past clients include the Immigration Department, JPJ, and Ministry of Health, the joint statement said.
“Recognising the significance of these key projects for the nation, MyEG and HeiTech are collaborating to deploy cutting-edge technologies, driving the digital transformation of the public sector,” the statement read.
“This partnership aims to deliver efficient government services to end-users, both Malaysians and non-Malaysians, at consistently high standards,” it added.
At the time of writing, MyEG shares were down two sen or 2.2% at 89 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM6.79 billion.
Heitech shares, which were suspended from trading ahead of the NIISe contract award announcement, fell 22 sen or 5.07% on Monday following the announcement to close at RM4.12, giving it a market capitalisation of RM458.75 million.
