KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 10): KJTS Group Bhd (KL:KJTS) said on Thursday that it has secured a subcontract worth RM12.3 million for a data centre project in Selangor.
In a bourse filing, the building support services provider said the subcontract for the supply and installation of air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation pipework, complete with equipment, was awarded by Sunway Engie DC Sdn Bhd.
Sunway Engie is 70% owned by Sunway Engineering Sdn Bhd and 30% by Engie Services Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Sunway Engineering, in turn, is fully owned by Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned unit of Sunway Construction Group Bhd (KL:SUNCON).
This is the second subcontract KJTS received from Sunway Engie within a month. The first, awarded on Sept 23, was worth RM23.75 million and involved work at a data centre in Sedenak Tech Park, Johor.
KJTS said work on the latest subcontract commenced on Sept 11 and is expected to be completed by Nov 27, 2026.
"The subcontract is anticipated to contribute positively to our earnings and net assets until its expiration," the company added.
Including this subcontract, KJTS has secured four contracts since the beginning of the year.
Shares in KJTS closed 1.5 sen or 2.3% higher at 65.5 sen, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM450.6 million. The counter, which was listed in January, has risen over 142% from its initial public offering price of 27 sen.
