KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 8): Sunsuria Bhd (KL:SUNSURIA) said it has won the exclusive rights to operate new British international schools in Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, India and other regions across Southeast and South Asia.

The company said the rights were granted by Concord College International Ltd (CCIL), which is owned by a UK-based educational charity that operates Concord College UK, a leading independent international school in Shropshire, England.

The agreement between Sunsuria and CCIL, signed in the UK on Sept 27, comes after Concord College International School commenced operations in Sunsuria City, Salak Tinggi, in September, under Sunsuria’s partnership with CCIL and Concord College in the UK.

"Concord College International School is the first international school in the Asean region to be modelled after Concord College UK," said Sunria in a statement on Tuesday.

"Moving forward, Sunsuria plans to establish another two Concord College International School campuses in Malaysia."

The share price of Sunsuria closed down one sen or 1.8% at 56 sen, bringing the company a market capitalisation of RM502 million.
