KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 30): Infrastructure and engineering company Jati Tinggi Group Bhd (KL:JTGROUP) has secured a sub-contract worth RM50.87 million for 132kV underground single circuit cable installation in Cyberjaya, Selangor. 

The contract was awarded to its wholly owned subsidiary, Jati Tinggi Holdings Sdn Bhd, by Worktime Engineering Sdn Bhd, the group's bourse filing showed. 

Jati Tinggi said the scope of work includes the supply and erection of power cables, fibre optic cables, jointing and termination, testing, commissioning and other ancillary activities. 

The project is expected to span over 22 months.

Note that Jati Tinggi has secured five similar contracts totalling RM118.26 million in March, July and September this year. 

In September, Jati Tinggi obtained two separate contracts worth RM36.36 million from Worktime Engineering and YM Teras Sdn Bhd to install underground cables in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur and the southern region of Peninsular Malaysia.

Earlier in March and July, the company received two other contracts totalling RM42 million from Worktime Engineering to lay underground cables for data centres in the southern region.

Last month, Jati Tinggi secured a RM39.9 million contract from YM Teras for the installation of 33kV aluminium cross-linked polyethylene underground cables for asset development in Selangor.

Shares in Jati Tinggi closed 1.5 sen or 3.3% lower at 44 sen on Monday, valuing the company at RM172.39 million.
