KLUANG (Sept 26): Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Thursday announced the Interim 2 Distributable Profit for 2024, amounting to RM129.81 million for Felcra Berhad (Felcra) project participants.
He stated that the profit distribution will be disbursed in stages, starting Thursday, benefitting nearly 68,000 participants nationwide across almost 600 projects.
“I would like to congratulate Felcra Berhad for maintaining such strong performance, reflecting an increase of nearly RM82 million, or 168%, compared to last year.
“I also want to thank the Felcra chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, for successfully doubling the profits through effective collaboration with the top management,” he said during his speech at the Felcra Madani: Santuni Rakyat programme at Dewan Serbaguna Chamek on Thursday.
Zahid, who is also minister of rural and regional development, believes that Felcra will remain one of the most profitable subsidiaries under his ministry, thereby providing greater profits to the participants.
The deputy prime minister expressed hope that within the next 10 years, all subsidiaries under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) will be able to contribute directly to the KKDW’s activities and operate independently without relying on federal government allocations.
He stated that over nearly two years, KKDW has organised three retreats aimed at restructuring all regional development boards and subsidiaries to improve their profitability.
“I stated during the third retreat that every company within the regional development board and KKDW subsidiaries are generating profits, enabling us to be independent to earn profit,” he said.
