KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 13): Minetech Resources Bhd (KL:MINETEC) said it has secured a sewage system upgrading project in Terengganu, valued at RM36.79 million.

The subcontract, awarded by Puncak Utara Sdn Bhd, involves enhancing the sewage system and associated infrastructure in the Ketengah Jaya, Bukit Besi and Seri Bandi areas.

The job is expected to be completed by June 23, 2027, the civil engineering specialist and bituminous products manufacturer said in a bourse filing on Tuesday.

This is the group's third contract win since July. The previous two contracts worth a total of RM20.15 million comprise the upgrading and construction of an external road and drainage system in Mukim Batu, Kuala Lumpur (awarded by a subsidiary of Mah Sing Group Bhd), and road and drainage works at Banting Industrial City in Kuala Langat, Selangor (awarded by VED Engineers Sdn Bhd).

In a statement, Minetech’s executive chairman Abang Abdillah Izzarim said the group will continue to seek major projects and expand its footprint in the infrastructure sector, including civil engineering and water treatment.

"We are also looking forward to exploring future opportunities in Sarawak, where we aim to drive growth and deliver positive results,” he said.

Shares in Minetech closed half a sen or 3.7% higher at 14 sen on Tuesday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM240.97 million.
