KULIM (Aug 8): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim held a Budget 2025 engagement session with the electrical and electronics (E&E) industry players at the SilTerra Malaysia plant here on Thursday, to get feedback from industry stakeholders.

The feedback received in the closed dialogue is expected to cover policies, incentives, programmes, implementation and challenges, before they are brought back to be studied at the Ministry of Finance level for adoption in the Madani Budget 2025.

More than 70 E&E industry players from 52 companies based in Kedah, Penang and Perak attended the engagement session with Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, and Kedah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

Previously, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said Anwar, who is also the finance minister, had instructed all ministers to hold a Madani Budget 2025 dialogue session with their respective ministries and all stakeholders in the sectors involved.

Budget 2025, which is the third budget under the Unity Government, will be presented in Dewan Rakyat on Oct 18, 2024.

Earlier, the prime minister insisted that Budget 2025 will continue to focus on the benchmarking aspects targeted within the framework of the Madani Economy, including enabling Malaysia to become a major economy in Southeast Asia.
