KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 8): The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) said it will appeal the High Court decision ordering the government to transfer 263.27 acres of land known as the "Duta enclave" to Semantan Estate (1952) Sdn Bhd.
"The AGC, representing the Federal Territory Land Registrar, will file the appeal in the Court of Appeal and apply for a stay of execution of the High Court's decision," the AGC said in a statement on Wednesday night.
The statement confirmed Judge Datuk Ahmad Shahrir Mohd Salleh's decision ordering the government to transfer the land, currently housing various government complexes and facilities, to the liquidator of Semantan Estate, as reported by The Edge earlier in the day.
Ahmad Shahrir ordered the transfer to be carried out within three months.
