KUALA LUMPUR (July 30): AwanBiru Technology Bhd (KL:AWANTEC), which provides technology and talent solutions software services, said it is teaming up with the country's cybersecurity regulator to develop new technologies in cybersecurity.

The group on Tuesday signed a two-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Cyber Security Agency (Nacsa), Awantec said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia. The MOU, which expires on July 29, 2026, could be extended for another year if both parties agree.

Under the MOU, Awantec and Nacsa will also collaborate on new cybersecurity projects focusing on training, upskilling and addressing industry needs, particularly in providing online learning and job platforms.

“The purpose of the MOU is to foster potential collaborations between the parties to enhance, promote and develop cooperation in cybersecurity technology and services, together with talent development to address industry needs,” Awantec said.

Shares in Awantec closed down one sen or 2.38% at 41 sen on Tuesday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM320.04 million.
