KUALA LUMPUR (July 25): Former Industrial Court president Eddie Yeo and lawyer Saheran Suhendran @ Sockanathan Abdullah, have been appointed judicial commissioners on Thursday.
Yeo and Saheran both received their appointment letters from Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat during a ceremony in Putrajaya.
Yeo, who read law at Universiti Malaya, became a judicial and legal service officer in 1984. He stayed in the service for 24 years, and then served as chairman of the Industrial Court from 2009 to 2015.
The 63-year-old then became the chairman of the Ministry of Finance's Customs Appeal Tribunal (TRK) for two years, before becoming the Industrial Court president from September 2017 to August 2020. Since then, he has served as a lawyer in a local law firm.
Saheran read law at the University of London and the University of Cambridge. The 64-year-old was admitted as a barrister at Gray’s Inn in 1984.
He served as a legal assistant in a local law firm in 1985 and was later a partner in several law firms, including Zul Rafique & Partners, and Kadir, Andri & Partners.
Saheran has served as a consultant for two law firms since 2015.
