KUALA LUMPUR (July 24): Malakoff Power Bhd (MPB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Malakoff Corp Bhd (KL:MALAKOF), signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea South-East Power Company (KOEN) in order to explore potential collaborations.
KOEN, an energy public corporation established during South Korea's power industry restructuring in April 2001, supplies about 10% of the country's electricity.
Its facilities include coal, biomass, liquefied natural gas-fired power plants, and renewable energy technologies.
In a statement on Wednesday, Malakoff said the MOU aims to facilitate the exchange of information, experiences and positive practices in the operation and maintenance of power plants.
The MOU also included aims to support supply chain management, site visits, technical workshops and training.
Malakoff managing director and group chief executive officer Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib said that strategic collaborations like this will not only enable the group to upgrade and enhance plants’ performance, but also reinforces its commitment to providing uninterrupted energy to the nation.
“This partnership aligns with our ongoing efforts to elevate our operational standards and drive continuous improvement,” he said.
