KUALA LUMPUR (June 13): Bursa Malaysia Bhd (KL:BURSA) announced on Thursday the addition of 12 new constituents to the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia (F4GBM) Index, together with nine new constituents to the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Shariah (F4GBMS) Index, following the latest review period in June 2024.

In a statement, Bursa said the 12 new additions to the F4GBM Index bring the total number of constituents to 120, a significant increase from the 24 constituents since the index's inception in December 2014.

The 12 new additions to the F4BGM Index include: Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd (KL:BIMB), Carimin Petroleum Bhd (KL:CARIMIN), Harbour-Link Group Bhd (KL:HARBOUR), Icon Offshore Bhd (KL:ICON), Pecca Group Bhd (KL:PECCA) and Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd (KL:PETRONM).

Other companies on the list are: QL Resources Bhd (KL:QL), Shangri-La Hotels (M) Bhd (KL:SHANG), Sports Toto Bhd (KL:SPTOTO), Sunway Bhd (KL:SUNWAY), Wasco (KL:WASCO) and YTL Power International Bhd (YTLPOWR).

“Separately, the F4GBMS Index will see nine additions and one deletion, bringing the index’s constituent count to 95,” Bursa said.

The nine additions to the F4GBMS Index are: Bank Islam, Carimin Petroleum, Icon Offshore, Pecca, Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing, QL Resources, Shangri-La Hotels, Sunway, and Wasco. Eco World International Bhd (KL:EWINT) has been removed from the F4GBMS list.

All constituent changes will take effect at the start of business on June 24, said Bursa.

The F4GBM Index measures the performance of public-listed companies (PLCs) with good liquidity that demonstrate strong environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices.

The F4GBM Index constituents, on the other hand, are drawn from PLCs on the FTSE Bursa Malaysia EMAS Index, comprising eligible PLCs from small, medium and large market capitalisation segments.

The F4GBMS Index tracks the constituents in the F4GBM that are shariah-compliant, in according to the Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) screening methodology.
