SINGAPORE (June 11): UOB Thailand, the Thai arm of Singaporean lender United Overseas Bank (UOB), has appointed Richard Maloney as its new chief executive officer effective July 1, 2024.

Maloney will succeed Tan Choon Hin, who will return to Singapore and take on a new role as deputy head of group governance, risk and compliance, UOB Thailand said on Tuesday.

Maloney, who has four decades of banking experience, has held the position of chief operating officer, group wholesale banking since joining UOB in 2014, the lender said.

UOB Thailand has also appointed Vira-Anong C Phutrakul, who was previously UOB Thailand's head of retail and brand, as its head, wholesale banking and deputy CEO.
