KUALA LUMPUR (June 6): Global semiconductor equipment billings contracted 2% year-on-year to US$26.4 billion (RM123.90 billion) in the first quarter of 2024, and dropped 6% quarter-on-quarter, according to Semi.
The US-based microelectronics industry association released its latest Worldwide Semiconductor Equipment Market Statistics Report on Wednesday.
SEMI president and chief executive officer Ajit Manocha said despite the slight dip in global semiconductor equipment billings, the industry remains strong and resilient.
“Strategic investments and demand for advanced technology will catalyse the semiconductor equipment market’s return to growth," he said.
