KUALA LUMPUR (May 27): The Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association’s (Rehda) Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur) branch has appointed Carrie Fong Kah Wai, of Hedgeford Sdn Bhd, as its chairperson for the 2024-2026 term.

Fong was previously Rehda Youth chairperson from 2016 to 2018.

Meanwhile, IGB Bhd's Tan Yee Seng was elected deputy chairperson, according to a media statement issued Monday. Tan is also the branch chairperson for Rehda KL's annual World Class Sustainable Cities (WCSC) conference for 2024.

Fong expressed her commitment to Rehda KL’s role of cooperating with the city stakeholders towards ensuring KL is a “city for all” and a carbon-neutral city by 2040.

“The pace of change is now faster than ever and a city’s infrastructure will need to respond to the needs of the people. The branch committee and I will continue dialogues and discussions with policymakers so that developers can meet these demands whilst ensuring that KL continues to be a livable, connected city and a great place to live and work in," said Fong in the statement.

Former Rehda KL chairperson Datuk Chan Kin Meng, of Beneton Properties Sdn Bhd, commended both immediate past chairperson Ra Adriana, of Fairview Corporation Sdn Bhd, and Fong for their leadership roles.

“Many years ago, we recognised the need to ensure Rehda’s relevance through the development of talented leaders. It heartens me to see them come through the ranks and take up the torch," said Chan.
