KUALA LUMPUR (May 20): Asia Digital Engineering (ADE), the engineering arm of Capital A Bhd (KL:CAPITALA), on Monday announced that its Cambodian unit had been granted the Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) certification in supporting the aviation ecosystem of Cambodia.
This certification enables ADE Cambodia Co Ltd, a joint venture with Sivilai Asia Co Ltd, to provide comprehensive maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) services for the aviation ecosystem of Cambodia.
The AMO certification, awarded by the Cambodia State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, signifies the first ADE entity outside Malaysia to secure business approvals within the country.
ADE said the approval is set to support Cambodia’s aviation sector by offering MRO services to AirAsia Cambodia and other carriers at the nation’s principal airports.
ADE Cambodia will base its operations at the Phnom Penh International Airport, with plans to extend services to additional Cambodian airports in the future, according to the company.
Mahesh Kumar, the chief executive officer of ADE, said there are plans for investment in cutting-edge technology, capability enhancement, and workforce development at ADE’s facilities in Cambodia.
"We look forward to providing top-notch MRO solutions to airlines operating to and from Cambodia, in addition to supporting Cambodia's thriving aviation industry, which will positively impact the local economy and create job opportunities in the country.” Kumar said.
Capital A CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said ADE’s journey is a testament to its ambition of becoming the premier MRO provider in Asean and beyond.
"This milestone comes just weeks after the momentous launch of AirAsia Cambodia and its inaugural flight, underscoring Capital A's steadfast commitment to expanding our footprint for all of our associated lines of business leveraging on the success of our fast-growing aviation group.” Fernandes added.
Established in 2020 and headquartered in Terminal 2 of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, ADE mainly provides a spectrum of aircraft services, including line and base maintenance, workshop, component, warehouse, and engineering support services.
