KUALA LUMPUR (May 5): In the May 6 issues of City & Country, the cover story features Eastern & Oriental Bhd’s (E&O) Andaman Island in Penang. The reclaimed island project is taking shape and will come in two phases. Phase one covers 253 acres, while phase two will cover 507 acres. Reclamation work for phase one started in 2015 and was completed in December 2019. Work on phase two is ongoing, with the entire reclamation exercise set to be completed by December 2028.

There are three districts within the first phase of Andaman Island: Shoreline, Canalside and Gurney Green, featuring numerous elements like parks and a canal. The design of the island includes connectivity and walkability, as well as ample open spaces for residents and guests to enjoy.

Within the Shoreline district, there are residential products such as terraced and semi-detached houses that have been launched and successfully sold. Future projects include villas and a resort condominium, which are in the planning stages.

Also in the issue is a story on Maxim Global Bhd’s The Atas project that is located along Jalan Taman Bukit Desa and featuring three 30-storey residential towers; the unveiling of Tropicana Corp Bhd’s Tropicana Alam township in Puncak Alam; and an article on CBRE’s report on data centres in Asia Pacific.

Additionally, we have an article from EdgeProp Singapore on a hotel project — Mama Shelter Singapore Orchard — that is the redevelopment of the former Tai Wah Building, as well as a news piece on South Korea’s shadow banking stress that is worrying global investors.

Read all this in the May 6 issue of The Edge Malaysia weekly.
