KUALA LUMPUR (April 29): Printed circuit board (PCB) company BSL Corp Bhd saw Doris Wong Sing Ee emerge as its substantial shareholder after Wong acquired 97 million BSL shares, raising her stake in the company to 7.104%.

Wong acquired the shares from the open market on April 26, according to a bourse filing by BSL on Monday

The acquisition price was not disclosed. But based on a back-of-envelope calculation, the block of shares was estimated to be worth RM2.91 million — based on BSL Corp’s closing price of three sen on April 26.

Also on April 26, BCM Alliance Bhd, the laundry equipment cum medical device distributor, sold 147.02 million shares or 7.61% stake in the company via BC Medicare Sdn Bhd. Post-transaction, BCM Alliance was left with 3.8 million shares or 0.2% stake in the company.

The 42-year-old Wong is currently a non-independent non-executive director in Trive Property Group Bhd, and an executive director of Metronic Global Bhd.

On Monday, BSL Corp’s share price closed unchanged at three sen, bringing the company a market capitalisation of RM58 million.

Year to date, the stock has retreated two sen or 40%.
