KUALA LUMPUR (April 26): KPJ Healthcare Bhd, through its premier educational institution KPJ Healthcare University (KPJU), has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Friday with Trusx Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Trustr), a global digital health organisation, as an initiative to revolutionise healthcare.

In a statement, KPJ Healthcare said the collaboration would focus on leveraging Trustr’s innovative artificial intelligence (AI)-driven digital health suite, including its health wallet and non-invasive vitals and biomarkers measurement tool, which utilises facial scanning technology to extract vital health information without invasive procedures or blood samples.

“This technology has wide-ranging applications, including early disease detection, remote health monitoring and non-communicable disease (NCD) management. Once technology validations are completed in KPJU, the group intends to pilot the application of this technology to patients via digital channels and retail facilities.

“This partnership underscores KPJU’s commitment to leading AI research and innovation in healthcare. By integrating intelligence and technology, KPJU aims to create a future-ready healthcare system that prioritises patient care and wellbeing,” the statement read.

The MOU was signed by KPJ Healthcare chief operating officer (group allied and retail health operations) Dr Nik Fawaz Nik Abdul Aziz and Trusxplus Inc, USA vice chairman and global chief executive officer Ananth Subramanian.

Meanwhile, KPJ Healthcare president and managing director Chin Keat Chyuan said in the same statement that the collaboration represented a significant step forward towards integrating KPJ and KPJU as part of its plan to create Malaysia’s first private academic health system.

“KPJ is actively redefining the concept of patient-centricity in today’s rapidly evolving, technology-driven landscape. This partnership marks a significant step in that journey, driven by our shared commitment to harnessing the power of AI to empower individuals in proactively managing their health and wellbeing.

“Collaborating with Trustr, our aim is to revolutionise healthcare delivery and elevate patient outcomes to new heights,” he added.

Ananth, on the other hand, said Trustr’s AI-driven vitals and biometric measurement tool and digital health wallet represented a paradigm shift in how individuals proactively monitor and manage their health.
