KUALA LUMPUR (April 19): Mah Sing Group Bhd's M Oscar development in Sri Petaling has achieved an 85% Quality Assessment System in Construction (Qlassic) from the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB). The certification was presented by CIDB Malaysia CEO Datuk Mohd Zaid Zakaria at an appreciation night for the completion of M Oscar recently.

In a press release on Friday (April 19), Mah Sing founder and group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum said that M Oscar is the developer's first completed development for the year.

"M Oscar stands as a testament to our dedication to creating homes that meet and exceed our valued customers' expectations. We are proud to see our vision come to life and look forward to continuing to enrich lives through exceptional developments. For instance, the six plots of land that we acquired in 2023 are targeted to be launched this year. Earlier this month, we also acquired another 100 acres of land in Mukim Pulai, Johor Bahru, to develop M Tiara 2. Moving forward, we will continue to acquire attractively priced lands in strategic locations to meet future market demand for homes," he said.

With a gross development value of RM590 million, M Oscar comprises 910 units in two towers. It offers four unit types with built-ups ranging from 708 to 1,198 sq ft. The project is fully sold.

Mah Sing’s group chief executive officer and executive director Datuk Voon Tin Yow said that the Qlassic achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of the team. "It also reaffirms our commitment to delivering projects of the highest quality. For this, I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to all our partners including our consultants and contractors, who played a role in the success of M Oscar. I look forward to replicating the success in our upcoming projects."

A certificate for the successful construction of M Oscar with 2.4 million man-hours without Lost Time Injury was also presented by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya’s deputy director of operations Nor Zamzuri Md Nor.

The statement said that this achievement aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG) 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth, which aims to promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.

Meanwhile, Mah Sing has organised a campaign in conjunction with its 30th anniversary celebrations this year, offering prizes worth RM500,000. The campaign runs from April 8, 2024, to March 31, 2025 and homebuyers who have purchased the participating projects with the sales and purchase agreement signed will qualify for participation during the campaign period, the statement added.
