KUALA LUMPUR (Mar 19): Proficeo Consultants Sdn Bhd, in partnership with Penjana Kapital Sdn Bhd, has established the Soonicorn Collective, a membership driven platform designed to build leadership skills among start-up founders, groom the next unicorns of Malaysia and foster a strong start-up ecosystem in Malaysia via policy proposals and engagement with government leaders.

According to the media release, a pioneer group of 18 founders has been selected to kick off the platform. Soonicorns are start-ups with the growth potential to become unicorns. The selected founders are all CEOs or C-level founders.

To participate, start-ups need to have raised at least RM2 million in funding or have generated RM8 million in revenue over the last 12 months.

The group of 18 founders selected to kick off the platform Soonicorn Collective.

“Having worked with more than 3,000 start-up founders over the last 25 years, I appreciate that being CEO of a company is a tough and sometimes a lonely journey. The most successful founders have been those with a strong support system and camaraderie with other founders, especially in creating a high growth company,” said Dr Sivapalan Vivekarajah, co-founder of Proficeo and chairman of the Soonicorn Collective.

“This community of like-minded peers and a shared experience in building successful companies will go a long way in helping them to cope with the challenges of being a CEO and the opportunities of building unicorns.”
