KUALA LUMPUR (March 15): Microsoft chairman and CEO Satya Nadella's first visit to Malaysia has been postponed with the rescheduling of its Microsoft Build AI Day in Kuala Lumpur.

"We appreciate your understanding, and we are actively working to secure a new date for the event. As soon as we have the details, we will communicate them. We apologise once again for any inconvenience and appreciate your continued support," said the company in an emailed statement to the media.

Nadella was supposed to give the opening keynote speech at the event.

"Satya will talk about the new era of AI, and the opportunity for every organisation in the region to apply advances in technology to shape what comes next for them, for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and for society more broadly," said Microsoft in its website before the postponement.

The Microsoft Build: AI Day is an event that gathers developers, data scientists, and technologists, giving them the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations and opportunities within the AI space, with a focus on generative AI and Microsoft's own Azure OpenAI and GitHub Copilot.
