KUALA LUMPUR (March 12): Abang Rahmat Yusuf has been appointed as the new chief executive officer (CEO) for Sarawak Sovereign Wealth Future Fund.
In a statement on Tuesday, the fund said the appointment was effective from Jan 29, 2024.
The 48-year-old was the head of investment banking (Malaysia) at CLSA Securities from 2019 to 2024, where he led fund-raising exercises including initial public offerings and placements for institutional and corporate clients.
Between 2004 and 2019, Rahmat Yusuf was a director of investments at Khazanah Nasional Bhd, which he established and headed the Khazanah Turkey regional office in Istanbul covering Turkiye, the Middle East and North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.
He was also the overseeing director for Financial Institutions Group (FIG) which then represented 20% of Khazanah’s portfolio.
Rahmat Yusuf holds a masters in public administration from Harvard University.
