KUALA LUMPUR (March 8): Perdana Petroleum Bhd announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Perdana Nautika Sdn Bhd has accepted letters of award from Dayang Enterprise Sdn Bhd (DESB) to charter one unit of anchor handling tug and supply (AHTS) vessel and one unit of accommodation work barge (AWB) worth RM13.4 million.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Friday, Perdana Petroleum said the estimated value of these charters (without the extension period), is RM4 million for the AHTS vessel and RM9.4 million for the AWB unit.

The commencement date for the charters is March 1, 2024, with a duration of 110 days and an option to extend for an additional 50 days.

Perdana Petroleum said the contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of the PPB Group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2024.

It said the vessel's charter is part of a strategic alliance with Dayang Group, aiming to maximise vessel utilisation and qualify for more offshore maintenance works.

To note, Dayang is a major shareholder in Perdana Nautika, with a 64% stake, which makes it a related party transaction.

At market close on Friday, shares in Perdana Petroleum settled half a sen or 2% higher at 26 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM77.3 million.
