KUALA LUMPUR (March 8): Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd (PNSB), a state-owned real estate development company, signed an agreement with construction firms IJM Corp Bhd and Lim Seong Hai Capital Bhd to study connectivity routes in the state.
The collaboration aims to transform the road transportation infrastructure focusing on the Southern Selangor Integrated Regional Development, the three companies said in a joint statement. They also plan to introduce key transportation links, it said.
These efforts are aimed at improving connectivity, reducing travel time and creating new development corridors, the statement said. Bolstering Selangor’s logistics and transport efficiency would “invigorate local economies by providing better access to markets, services and employment opportunities”, it said.
PNSB will take the lead in planning, land management and oversight while IJM Corp and Lim Seong Hai will execute and deliver the projects in the southern districts Sepang and Kuala Langat.
“This partnership aims to create a robust infrastructure that supports its long-term vision for the region’s growth and development while incorporating sustainable elements within an ESG (environmental, social and governance) framework,” PNSB chief executive officer Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim said.
IJM Corp group CEO and managing director Lee Chun Fai added that the collaboration aims “to meet the state’s immediate and future infrastructure needs, ensuring long-term benefits”.
Meanwhile, Lim Seong Hai’s non-executive chairman Lim Keng Cheng commented that “the combined expertise in capital management and infrastructure development will ensure the successful realisation of the initiative”.
