KUALA LUMPUR (March 8): Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown is expected to open in 2025, according to KL Midtown Sdn Bhd director David Khor during the topping out ceremony of Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

KL Midtown Sdn Bhd is a joint venture between Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd’s subsidiary Hap Seng Land Sdn Bhd and Naza TTDI Sdn Bhd’s subsidiary TTDI KL Metropolis Sdn Bhd.

“With construction commencing in December 2021, the topping-out celebration is a significant milestone as it marks over a two-year completion to the highest point of the building’s superstructure. Work is now underway for the interior fit-out for 306 hotel keys, 104 units of service suites, a lobby, a spacious grand ballroom, event venues and two specialty restaurants, which the internationally renowned Hyatt Regency will manage," said Khor.

Located next to Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (Mitec), Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur will attract visitors from events hosted by the exhibition centre.

“Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur will be well-positioned to service the participants, attendees and visitors to the various exhibitions and events that Mitec will host,” said Khor.

Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd chairman Thomas Karl Rapp pointed out that this is Hap Seng’s second partnership with Hyatt Group: “Our partnership with Hyatt Group stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence in hospitality. The Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown will be the second jewel in our crown, following the success of our first venture, Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu.”

KL Midtown is an 8.95-acre freehold mixed-use development with an estimated gross development value of RM5 billion. It comprises Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur, corporate tower, signature office tower, residential tower and a retail mall.

The signature office towers will have two Grade A, 19-storey office towers with a gross floor area of 300,000 sq ft each tower. Meanwhile, the retail mall will have a total area of 500,000 sq ft, and it will be managed and anchored by Aeon Co (M) Bhd. It is expected to be completed by end-2025.

Details for the residential towers and corporate tower will be announced in due course.
