KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 16): Information and communications technology (ICT) system provider SNS Network Technology Bhd (SNS Network) has secured a contract from Esri Malaysia Sdn Bhd to offer geographical information system (GIS) solutions for an undisclosed value.

SNS Network will mainly market, distribute, and sell the GIS solutions to Esri’s existing and potential customers from small and medium enterprises, public companies, and government agencies in Malaysia, the group said in a statement on Friday.  

The group said the collaboration will allow them to foster smart city initiatives in Malaysia by leveraging Esri’s advanced GIS technology through SNS Network’s extensive network and expertise. 

According to SNS Network, Esri is a leading provider of spatial data visualisation and analysis solutions for business and government agencies of all sizes. 

SNS executive director Kelvin Pah views the partnership with Esri, which will enable the group to expand its ICT services and solutions to include the state-of-the-art geospatial technology. 

“By incorporating Esri’s state-of-the-art geospatial technology into our offerings, we are not only meeting the evolving needs of our clients but also contributing to the advancement of smart city planning in Malaysia,” he said. 

At the time of writing on Friday, SNS Network shares slipped half a sen or 2% at 24.5 sen, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM395.1 million.
