KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 8): Malaysia Airlines has unveiled MHrail, a service that offers passengers integrated rail connections through a unified booking system.
Following this initiative, the airline has expanded its collaboration with AccesRail, a provider of air-rail intermodal solutions.
This partnership enables passengers to easily book train services for further travel, facilitating visits to cities near Seoul and London when flying with the airline.
Malaysia Airlines enables customers to book Korail KTX train tickets in South Korea and connect between London Heathrow and various UK cities via London North Eastern Railway and Avanti West Coast.
This service, accessible through Malaysia Airlines’ website and all Global Distribution Systems travel agencies, enhances travel flexibility and options.
Besides, this partnership with AccesRail and its "9B" carrier code makes it easier for Malaysia Airlines’ customers to switch between flights and trains.
In a statement on Thursday, Malaysia Aviation Group chief commercial officer Dersenish Aresandiran said they are thrilled to introduce more flight-to-rail connection options, ensuring a smooth travel experience.
He said with the new MHrail product, passengers can easily book both flight and train tickets, offering a convenient way to explore and connect onward in London or Seoul with just one ticket.
Then, AccesRail vice president of business development Andrew Popescu stated that the longstanding collaboration between AccesRail and Malaysia Airlines has broadened the airline's network through interline opportunities.
“We look forward to deepening our cooperation, allowing Malaysia Airlines to offer more destinations and seamless travel options to its customers now and in the future,” said Popescu.
