KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 5): The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is seeking Gafung Petroleum Sdn Bhd managing director Tang Kuok Sing, to assist in a case that is being heard at the Criminal Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur, according to the commission’s statement on Monday.

In the statement, the MACC said Tang is needed as the main witness of the case. However, the commission has been unable to locate him. Tang’s last known address is No 150, Lorong Lapangan Terbang 51, Jalan Lapangan Terbang, 93450 Kuching, Sarawak.

The MACC urges members of the public who knows or has information regarding Tang’s whereabouts, to contact the investigating officer Zainan Sarif Marjan at 03-8870 0331 or 019-8699 370, or email at [email protected].

The case being tried is regarding a former executive staff of Sapura Kencana Offshore Sdn Bhd who allegedly had received bribes from Tang’s company Gafung Petroleum between 2012 and 2014, for the supply of fuel to vessels owned by Sapura Kencana Offshore, according to the MACC.

It is not known whether Tang is still the MD of Gafung Petroleum. In June 2019, Gafung Petroleum signed a memorandum of agreement with Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd, to strengthen the ship-to-ship fuel bunkering activities at Bintulu Port.
