KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 24): Former chief executive officer of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (previously known as Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd) Datuk Ridza Abdoh Salleh has been named AHB Bhd’s new non-independent and non-executive director, effective immediately.

Ridza, 69, was the first CEO of Prasarana Malaysia when the company was newly set up in 2003, the furniture maker's bourse filing showed.

Prior to that, Ridza was appointed as the general manager of Kinta Kellas in 1994, to manage the construction of the intra-government Malaysia-Singapore Second Link project. He was subsequently promoted to chief operating officer and managing director of Linkedua (M) Bhd.

Following that, he was then chosen to head the development of the light-rail transport (LRT) Kelana Jaya line for Pengurusan LRT, also known as the Putra LRT line. Upon completion of the project, Ridza was appointed as managing director in 1999, where he managed the entire operation of the system.

In 2005, he was appointed as the chief operating officer (Rail) of Rangkaian Pengangkutan Integrasi Deras Sdn Bhd (Rapid).

Subsequently, he joined UEM Builders Bhd as managing director in 2006 and was appointed as independent non-executive director in One Glove Group Bhd in 2020.

Ridza owns a minority interest of 75,000 shares or 0.011% in AHB.

On Wednesday, AHB closed unchanged at 12.5 sen, bringing the group a market capitalisation of RM84 million.
