KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 24): EVD Bhd has received a written requisition from a suspended director, Mah Seong Huak, to convene an extraordinary general meeting to remove four other company directors, its Bursa Malaysia filing showed on Wednesday.

Mah is the largest shareholder of the group, holding 113.5 million shares or a 27.06% stake in the company.

The EGM seeks, among others, to remove the four directors, namely Datuk Dr Syed Muhammad Syed Abdul Kadir, Gan Wee Peng, Hon Hin See and Lee Chi Hoe.

The EGM also proposes that three individuals who have consented to act as directors be apppointed as directors, namely Kvin Lim Chun Keat, Ibrahim Maidin and Tee Chun Yeh.

Earlier on Jan 11, the group, which provides information and communications technology system solutions for transportation systems, announced the suspension of its executive director of operations Mah with immediate effect but did not disclose the reason for the suspension.

In a separate filing, EVD said its wholly-owned subsidiary, EVD Engineering Bhd Sdn Bhd (EVDE), has been served with three winding-up petitions by subcontractors arising from claims under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012 (CIPPA) totalling RM1.59 million.

The group said the winding-up petitions would come up for hearing on Feb 5 and Feb 26.

Shares in EVD closed unchanged at 12 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM50.42 million.
