KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 31): Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders have rubbished claims by a Community Communications Department (J-Kom) senior official that they are plotting to take down Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his Unity Government with an alleged "Dubai Move".

In a Free Malaysia Today report, PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal both accused the government of trying to distract the rakyat from other urgent matters.

Tuan Ibrahim called the "Dubai Move" claim an attempt to deceive the rakyat (people) by distracting them from the government's alleged failures to address the "J-Kom issue, local elections, or statements from DAP leaders causing public concern".

Meanwhile, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal said he thinks the government is trying to create diversions from issues such as the upcoming diesel rationalisation which starts on Monday (Jan 1).

He also alleged that there were "agents" trying to get opposition MPs to lend their support to Anwar, in exchange for constituency development funds to be used as additional flood aid.

“It is dirty tactics being employed by the powers that be. I am not accusing the prime minister, but his operators. Because they spoke about PMX [Anwar],” Wan Ahmad Fayhsal was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said in a posting on X.com that Barisan Nasional (BN) Members of Parliament (MPs) have signed an agreement stating that they are liable to a fine of RM100 million if they switch allegiances.

"Which MP has that much money? Even if 30 [MPs] leave [the government coalition], the government will still remain with 122 [MPs in] support.

"The people want stability and economic strength," added the deputy works minister.

In an interview with Berita Harian, J-Kom deputy director general Datuk Ismail Yusop has alleged that there is a new plot aimed at bringing down Anwar and the unity government he leads.

Ismail claimed that the plan was hatched by PN leaders, including certain representatives from the government — namely leaders of parties who were said to be uneasy with Anwar's leadership — during a recent vacation in Dubai.

Ismail further alleged that the get-together was held to negotiate and delegate certain tasks to "officers" responsible for identifying MPs who are likely to shift allegiances to the Opposition, in return for bribes, to set up a back door government.
