KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 28): Member of Parliament for Bukit Gantang Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal has declared his support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the unity government.
He made the announcement during the prime minister's question time in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday, stating his readiness to assist the government in nation-building, and address the issues of rising prices of goods and the cost of living.
"With that, Bukit Gantang hereby announces its support for YAB Tambun (Anwar) as the 10th prime minister and the Madani government," said Syed Abu Hussin.
Syed Abu Hussin also called on two former prime ministers, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (Perikatan Nasional-Pagoh) and Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (Barisan Nasional-Bera), to assist Anwar in nation-building.
Syed Abu Hussin is the fifth Bersatu MP to pledge support for the unity government to date.
The other four Bersatu MPs who have declared support for Anwar are Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar), Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan), Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang), and Zahari Kechik (Jeli).
