KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 24): MBSB Bank Bhd has withdrawn its winding-up petitions against Sentoria Group Bhd and its wholly owned unit Sentoria Bina Sdn Bhd (SBSB), over a judgement debt of RM303,268.39.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Friday, Sentoria said MBSB’s solicitors had executed and filed the notices of discontinuance on Friday (Nov 24, 2023) to withdraw the winding-up petitions without liberty to file afresh and with no order as to cost.

“The court had approved the said notices of discontinuance. In light thereof, the winding-up petitions against SBSB and the company have now been wholly discontinued by MBSB,” Sentoria said.

On Nov 3, Sentoria, a property developer and resort operator, announced that MBSB Bank had filed winding-up petitions against the company and SBSB, after it failed to recover RM303,268.39 from them, pursuant to a judgement granted by the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court, which comes with a late payment charge of 1% per annum.

The sum was for the settlement of an outstanding hire purchase facility granted by MBSB Bank to SBSB for the hiring of machinery and equipment related to SBSB’s business. Sentoria had provided a corporate guarantee for SBSB on the facility.
