KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 21): Gua Musang Member of Parliament (MP) Mohd Azizi Abu Naim has refuted claims that he was threatened by certain quarters to declare support for the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Before reading out questions during the Prime Minister’s Question Time in Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday, Mohd Azizi stood up to deny the rumours, while insisting that he is still a Perikatan Nasional (PN) Member of Parliament.
“I also want to confirm that the statement (declaring support for the prime minister) was issued by myself, and there is no element of coercion or vice versa,” said Azizi.
Azizi, who is also Nenggiri assemblyman in the Kelantan State Legislative Assembly, made a shocking statement on Nov 7, declaring his support for the prime minister.
Up to now, four Bersatu MPs have declared their support for Anwar. Besides Azizi, they are Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar), Zahari Kechik (Jeli), and Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan).
