KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 10): SkyWorld Development Bhd’s SkyAwani 3 Residences affordable housing development in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, was conferred the Innovative Design Award under the Malaysia Outstanding Sustainable Development Awards category at the PLANMalaysia’s Malaysia Urban Planning Awards (MUPA) 2023 on Thursday (Nov 9).

In a press release issued on Thursday, SkyWorld chief executive officer Lee Chee Seng said that the award is a reflection of SkyWorld’s commitment to innovation and quality throughout all of its developments.

“We are truly proud to be recognised in the industry for our commitment to innovative design. At SkyWorld, we continuously strive to enhance the standards of living for our residents, founded on the vision of ‘Always Best City Developer’ and driven by our purpose to ‘Make Living Better’,” said Lee.

Launched in October 2017 and completed in April 2022, SkyAwani 3 Residences is part of the government’s affordable housing initiative and comprises 1,905 units across three 52-storey towers. Each unit offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a built-up of 800 sq ft (square feet) and is priced at RM300,000. The development features 22 facilities, such as a swimming pool with a bubble jet jacuzzi, games rooms, jogging track, basketball court and a gymnasium.  

The developer highlights that SkyAwani 3 Residences was designed with sustainability and green living in mind, as it offers a passive green design to promote natural ventilation, natural daylighting for its units, low-emissivity glass to reduce energy consumption, as well as a rainwater harvesting system. In addition, the development boasts 2.68 acres of green parks.

SkyAwani 3 Residences also offers community features, such as a digital parcel locker, as well as the SkyWorld Connects digital application that serves as a platform between SkyWorld homeowners, residents, management and security for key collection appointments, defects submission, facilities booking, visitor registration and home solutions services.
