
KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 18): Solarvest Holdings Bhd has appointed its group chief strategy officer Liew Chee Ing as an executive director, effective Monday.
The renewable energy engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning player said Liew is spearheading the development of the group’s long-term strategies in his capacity as group chief strategy officer.
“He [is] also involved directly in the operation of business partnerships, strategic merger and acquisitions, leading the sustainable growth initiatives, and established strategic expansion to neighbouring countries,” it added in a bourse filing.
Prior to joining Solarvest, Liew spent a seven-year stint at oil and gas exploration company Schlumberger Ltd, and three years at state-owned utility company Sarawak Energy Bhd.
Meanwhile, Solarvest also announced the appointment of former Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) advanced research and development division director Rashidah Othman as an independent and non-executive director of the group.
Rashidah served Mida from December 1989 to February 2022, translating to over 30 years of experience in various divisions and capacities in foreign and domestic direct investments, said Solarvest.
Shares in Solarvest closed one sen or 0.82% higher at RM1.23 on Monday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM821.33 million.
